Designing what holds up the ground above it

I’m Parsa Heydarpour, a tunnel and structural engineer at COWI North America. I lead structural and geotechnical work on major underground transit projects — the Second Avenue Subway extension, the Potomac River Tunnel, the Hudson River Ground Stabilization for the Gateway Program, and the Frederick Douglass Tunnel — and hold a Ph.D. in structural engineering from George Washington University.
